The Tower of London, United Kingdom

Who would have thought that this exquisite tower has been a place of torture and execution.

According to the facts that I have gathered, this tower begun in 1078 by William the COngqueror with the building also of the White Tower. Henry III founded a palace in this place as well, but although no monarch has lived in it since Henry VII, the Tower remains a Royal Palace. The Tower claims to fame, but its bloody history made it known. There were Edward I's building of the Beauchamp Tower that serves as a prison for high-ranking convicts, Edward IV's two young sons incarcerated by their uncle after his death and the deaths of seven major historical persons including two of Henry VIII's wives.

Though history marks this tower as a place of misfortune, but still, tourists never fail to visit in order to see that full view as they discover its historical events. In there, one can also see the Royal Armouries, the Chapel of St. John the Evangelist, Traitor's Gate and the Beauchamp Tower. Of course, never to mention, the famous Crown Jewels are there as well. In getting to the place, visitors should be at the nearest tube station which is the Tower Hill.
